Teaching. Combining modern teaching practices with thousand-year old martial arts techniques, our instructors quickly bring out the best in students.
And we've been serving the Edinboro area since 2004! We are quite proud of this near-20 year track record of helping children, teenagers, and adults reach their fullest potential.
While we certainly challenge students, we try to present each with individualized plans that include progressive growth. We build up rather than tear down. Positive reinforcement is the most powerful motivator in the world and you'll find it is the primary method of encouragement used at EFMAC.
Instructors. Our chief instructor has nearly 50 years of martial arts experience, more than 40 years of martial arts teaching experience, holds an earned doctorate, is a tenured Professor of Criminal Justice at a major university, is a published author, and has many tournament wins to his name. However, his proudest achievement is helping children, teens, and adults realize their fullest potential.
Assistant instructors all pass a rigorous instructor training program prior to teaching students on their own and seldom do any teach without our chief instructor observing.
Coronavirus/COVID-19 Safety. During these unprecendented times, we have implemented new safety protocols to comply with legal requirements and necessary safety protocols.
We use "Force of Nature" cleaning products, HEPA filtration in our HVAC systems and ionizers to clean the air and keep students and staff safe. Besides observing social distancing we have reduced class sizes and provide more time between classes to reduce overcrowding.
Fun. Members and their families often find themselves attending social events, movie nights, and other fun activities at the studio. Truly, when you’re a member here, you are part of a large family. (Of course, right now, these events are limited.)
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, child or adult, Edinboro Family Martial Arts Center has a program for you.
